Dr Emmanuel J Favaloro is a Principal Hospital Scientist, in charge of the Haemostasis laboratories at the Institute of Clinical Pathology and Medical Research (ICPMR), located at Westmead Hospital, and part of NSW Health Pathology. He has (co-)authored over 600 papers and presented at numerous national and international meetings. He is the Editor in Chief of Seminars in Thrombosis & Hemostasis, and a member of the editorial/advisory boards of seven other international journals. He is a current or past member of several International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis (ISTH) Scientific Standardization Committees (SSCs) and Working Parties, a past member of several CLSI-guideline working groups, and a current member of the RCPA QAP Haematology haemostasis advisory committee. His primary interest is laboratory testing and diagnosis related to bleeding and thrombosis, particularly in developing and evaluating new or improved diagnostics.
